I hope all of my friends in the west are okay during this extreme heat wave they are having. Please keep cool and hydrated. I would like to welcome a new follower to my blog. She is Mia and you can find her at She is so talented and does so many crafts, you will enjoy stopping by.

I'm sad to see the last day of camp at . In spite of the mosquito bites and sunburn I had a wonderful time and look forward to next year.  Plus I already have two roomies for our cabin. The theme this time is Glitzy Glitter. I'm not a fan of glitter but this technique didn't look too messy so I'm on board. It was easy but I still managed to get glitter everywhere. I did not put a sentiment on this card yet as it is very versatile and can be used for a lot of different occasions. I used a Die-namics flower die and Stampendous ultra fine pink glitter. Be kind to one another.

I'm almost caught up with my classes at camp with This class was Divine Dry Embossing and what a cool class it was. It was a Bonus Day for us. I used my Doily die from Die-namics to dry emboss and the basket of apples from Harvest Mouse layered twice and stamped a few little leaves. Colored with Copics and the clear embossed sentiment is from that set too. I wonder how many of you remember that song? Be kind to one another.

Going to camp at is so much fun, I feel like a kid again. This is the card for day four and it's Sensational Sliders. I was under the misapprehension that it was those little sandwiches but it turned out not to be. It is about interactive cards. See how much I've learned. I agonized  over this card. It is my first slider and I'm happy with the way it turned out but it took me several tries to get it right. I hope you like it. I used My Favorite Things paper and the little girl with her balloon. Be kind to one another.

Wow, two posts in one day! I am finished with kittie duty. They will be home tomorrow. Kitty misses them, he wouldn't leave my side while I was there. He thinks he is a dog. He rolls over so you can rub his belly just like Molly does.

When I got back I was able to make a shaker card for This is for day 3 and it is a shaker card. I used a MFT heart die and the Because stamp and die set. The because is die cut three times and layered, then glittered with a Spectrum glitter pen. Be kind to one another.

This is for day two at Camp Create at  The theme is Remarkable Resist and this is my card for it. I embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder and used Distress Inks over the panel.  Polished the sentiment and added some colored sequins to complete the card. It has been pretty hot here so I'm glad to be inside crafting. Be kind to one another.  Blogger would not let me post the badge for Day 2. Bummer. It was the campfire.

Wednesday, June 14, 2017

I am away at camp this week. Camp Create 2017 at I kept seeing bloggers last year talk about it and didn't know what it was. Now, with my newfound knowledge, I am attending. It is such a busy week for me with running back and forth to my sons to take care of cat, funeral and graduation but I'm hoping to keep up with camp. The bed is comfortable and the food is so good, not to mention the great videos and tips. Day 1 is watercoloring. I made this card with an ombre watercolor look with Gansai Tambi pearl watercolors. I debossed the rectangle peek a boo die and used the stamp set Think Pink. It is an older stamp set but still useful always. I'd love for you to join me at camp. Maybe we could be roomies. Be kind to one another.

I was able to figure out how to load from both camera and phone. I called Sprint and they said they didn't have any techs at their store and gave me another number for a different store. I called many times and no one answered but no message came on to say it wasn't a working number! I went into the computer and decided to delete many more pictures - doubles and things I didn't really need to keep. Worked like a charm. So here is the first card I foiled. I also learned how hard it is to take a picture of a foiled card because of the shine. This card was made with Heidi Swapp foiled paper and foil. The paper comes in a little pack and mine was on sale at Hobby Lobby. I don't think I will buy anymore of her foil because it is so hard to open the hard plastic container it comes in and the sticker to hold it closed is not very peelable. That could possibly not be a word but that's the truth. Anyway, it is multi colored foil and really pretty. Soft pink at the top, gold then a rose color at the bottom. It is an easy, quick way to foil. Pick the paper, put the foil on top and run through the machine. Be kind to one another.

Monday, June 12, 2017

I foiled several cards over the weekend but my computer won't load them either from the camera or my phone. I am so bummed since I don't know what to do. I deleted some pictures from my camera and the computer thinking it might be full but no go. I will call Sprint when they open and see if they can help.

I'm taking care of my son's cat this week and that involves  trips back and forth three times. It's a good little jaunt back and forth so that will cut into my crafting time. Plus it is very hot here and I don't do hot very well.

Hope to be back soon with cards. Be kind to one another.

I have to admit I didn't do anything yesterday other than sat and stayed glued to the tv. In the evening I made this card with pattern papers from Doodlebug. The center of the flowers have a teeny drop of Nuvo honey gold glitter drops. I am entering this in the CASual Friday challenge. Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

My youngest granddaughter and I spent the day together yesterday and of course we went to the mall! We saw a shirt that she really wanted to get for Father's Day but they didn't have it in his size. So I made a card that is similar. I didn't have dies with a small enough font to put inside the bear so I had to improvise. He will get the idea. The bear is a Hero Arts Stamp and the letters are QuicKutz stiletto.  We were able to get another tee shirt for him that is snarky.  Be kind to one another.

What a beautiful, sunny week we have had. It has been wonderful to be outside and warm. Molly has been in and out all day long. I haven't spent much time in my craft room but I did make one card. I tinted some embossing paste with Distress Ink and put over a stencil for my focal point. The hugs stamp from Lawn Fawn was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Ranger gold embossing powder. The little butterfly is a Poppy Stamp die from a bit of gold paper in my stash. I stamped, used embossing paste and used a die cut so I am entering this is in the CAS Mix Up Challenge and Addicted to Stamps. I am also popping over to challenge with my bit of gold paper. Be kind to one another.

I hope everyone had a relaxing three day holiday in the US. We had three beautiful days and got the parade and the race in. Thank goodness Scott Dixon was not injured in that horrific accident. All the family went to the cementery to visit Bill then went to my sons for the day. We did have a hailstorm come through on Saturday night but that was all.

I found this cool adhesive stencil at JoAnn's a while back. There are two doilies and two hearts on it and there were others as well. This was a quickie card just sponged with DI and a Hero Arts sentiment. I added a few sequins and it was done. I just wanted to show you the stencil. It sticks then you just wash it off and you're good to go again. Be kind to one another.

As promised, or threatened depending on how you look at it, I am back with a card. This is my first attempt at a technique Jennifer McGuire did the other day. Raised letters in a scene. I think if I hadn't layered so many letters together it would have matched a little better but I'm happy for my first try. She has really been posting some cool things to do but I don't think I can afford to watch her very much longer! I can't imagine how she thinks up all these things to do. This card is going to my girlfriend's granddaughter graduating from high school. A Stampin Up scene, Avery Elle congratulations and Lawn Fawn letters and little star. WOS on stars and red gown and shoes. Taking my granddaughter out tonight for her birthday dinner and hoping the storms hold off until we get home. Hard to believe there is rain forecast for each day this weekend. Hope the parade and race gets in. Our family is getting together on Monday for our Memorial Day. Be kind to one another and be safe if you are traveling.

Mourning for Manchester. What a tragedy and I'm so very sad for everyone affected by it. I don't  have a card today. I'm pleased with the garage sale as I got a lot of things sold and out of here. The second day pretty much got rained out at noon and it was so cold and dreary. One couple got trapped in the garage while it just poured down. When they left I closed up. I was so happy to go inside and get warm! Since then I have been going through closets and really cleaning things out. Last week the trash can was so heavy I couldn't tilt it up enough to roll it to the curb. I had to take three bags out, roll it down and then come back up and get the bags to put back in the trash! That may be the case this week too. My grandson graduated from middle school last night so I went to that. Drove there and back in the rain. Will spend my sale money on a canoe. I'll be back soon. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, May 20, 2017

I've got to open up the garage shortly for the sale but I wanted to show you the other card I made with the tulle. It is the same design only with different colors. I don't have a picture of it by itself and you have already seen the pink one. I wanted to hurry and get it in the mail for a dear friend of mine.  Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

One last card I got to make from the online card class. I wish I had more time this week because there are several more things I want to do, especially the new marbling technique from Laura Bassen. But, life does interfere so I will try them hopefully next week.

This card was my first attempt to use gilding flakes. I used a scalloped stamp and added sticky powder then mashed on flakes. Then took a stencil brush and brushed it off. More flaked off than I wanted but I do love the effect. I should have used a smaller stamp so I could add this sentiment but I didn't know what sentiment I was going to use before I flaked so Duh. I will make another card with gilding flakes and get better at it. Go to go to the garage. I hope that I can work out there because the wind today is blowing so hard here. Will have to work with the garage door closed. Be kind to one another.

I'm thrilled to have a card chosen for Honorable Mention on the
That was a lovely surprise this morning.

I also want to post a card I made from Sparkle and Shine online class. This is a background made with Gansai Tambi pearl watercolors. I painted the color on acetate and smooshed it on the black card stock. I let it dry naturally and it gives such a soft shine. The balloons are a Simon Says Stamp die as is the happy birthday die. Gold thread is used for strings and SU sparkle paper in green and blue for the balloons. I think the gold is Tim Holtz. This is for my grandsons upcoming birthday. Be kind to one another.  Oh, I just posted this and it is not as beautiful as it is IRL. The balloons are so shiny and really stand out against the shine on the background. I wish you were here!

Sunday, May 14, 2017

I'm wishing all the mothers here a very happy mothers day. It's a hard job with a wonderful result. Sometimes with several results!  My family all came yesterday and spent the day working in the garage. They took things they wanted (or I forced on them) and helped me move things around and set up tables. Then they took me out to dinner. We had a great time in spite of working. A good friend of ours dropped by and several neighbors stopped in so I can't say we actually worked all day but we got things done.

I recently watched a video on Jennifer McGuire's blog where she used tulle on her card. I was estastic because I bought several rolls for my sons wedding to make some sort of table decorations. Then she found something she really liked and I have lots of tulle. This is a birthday card for my friend Sharon. We have always celebrated our anniversaries and her birthday together. Our 50th anniversary was Saturday so I was glad the family came. It made it easier.  I used a flower from Simon Says Stamp and tulle between the layers. Added some sequins and a sentiment. I love the card and will use tulle again. Be kind to one another.

Friday, May 12, 2017

A wonderful blogging friend did a great thing for me and I wanted to make a card to thank her. I got my inspiration from day two of the Online card class Sparkle and Shine. Day two is all about foiling and I have lots of foil that I've never used so I was ready to go.  The tulips are a Penny Black die that I watercolored with Inka Gold put on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and smooshed the paper in. I used an Avery Elle oval die to make the black embossed insert and gold glitter frame. Then using a Zig 2 way glue pen to cardstock I added gold foil to the cardstock and burnished with my bone folder. I cut out the thanks with a Clearly Besotted die and here it is. This is a great class for me since I love sparkle and shine on cards. It has clean and easy and quick techniques. I'm playing in the C challenge this month.  Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

My grandson is graduating from 8th grade and I needed a card for him. A boy card with no bling, flowers, ribbons BUT sparkle. I am taking the Sparkle and Shine online class and this is what I learned the first day. I used a piece of white glitter paper from DCWV and used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colors stripes on it. Then I used that paper to cut out the Yipee word from Waffle Flower. I stamped the hat from SU and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  I clear embossed the sentiment and went over it with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. I love how it came out, simple for a boy but the glitter colored paper gives it a boost. I will enter this into the that my friend gave me a heads up to/ Be kind to one another.

The rain and cold is back again. Hard to believe it is May by how it feels outside. I did work in the garage yesterday and got so much done but you couldn't tell if you just peeked in. Baby steps between the rain and wind. Should warm up this afternoon.

This is a card I sent to one of my wonderful blogging friends. I'm so happy to be sending birthday rather than sympathy cards but there has be a combination of both. This is an Altenew stamp and inspired by my shower curtain. It was colored with Copics. I wish I had the dies because I fussy cut both flowers and leaves. Many dies leave a white border and I'd rather have the image trimmed along the ink line. Unfortunately, my hands can't cut that well because of arthritis so I try to ink up the edges after I cut.  The happy birthday is Simon Says Stamp. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, May 6, 2017

The rain has stopped after 33 hours. It is trying to come again this morning but it won't be like it has been. I am going the the funeral of my next door neighbor today. The lady two doors down is very ill and just moved to her daughters and the man two doors the other way just passed two weeks ago. Many of my neighbors are elderly but this has been a real blow.

My girlfriend Sharon is having a birthday on the 14th and this is the card I made for her. It is kraft c/s and a PTI die from a set called Make it Market Mini: Garden Gild. The butterflies are stitched dies from a set I won from Poppy Stamps and the sentiment is from Mint Owl. I added a few gems from Hero Arts. Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, May 3, 2017

I am so behind in introducing my newest follower. She is Verna from South Dakota and her blog is She is a very versatile cardmaker and I think you would enjoy dropping by to say hi.

I finally got a new mattress and frame that raises and lowers the head and feet. I am so sorry I waited so long to do that. Reading has always been my way to relax and I always read at night in bed. What a difference this makes in my life. You wouldn't think it would be such a big thing but it is. I am warm and comfy and could almost purr! Speaking of purring -

On to my second favorite thing - cardmaking. This is actually the first card I made with my new Laurel Burch stamp set. I just love those cats. I colored them with Copics and fussy cut them. The green and orange kitties are popped up. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, April 29, 2017

I made a card today for my granddaughter's May birthday. It is all Lawn Fawn products. I cut the tree from white c/s and ran it through a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then inked it with Distress Oxide Ink. I used twine to hang the pinata. Then I added the grass and some of the candy that escaped.   Be kind to one another.

I am going to enter this at Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #3 - Outstanding Occasions

Thursday, April 27, 2017

I am really in love with Altenew's painted flower stamp set and my Zig pens. My pharmacy is closing Sunday so I made this card for the ladies there. They were so kind to Bill when he picked up his medicine. They took time to talk to him a bit and have been so wonderful to me. I just wanted them to know that I appreciate it. So I used that stamp set and my Zigs to color the flowers in. The thank you is Die-Namics layered three times and embossed in clear embossing powder. Added a few sequins and called it done. Notice I said a "few" sequins. I've learned my lesson from the other day! Be kind to one another.

Monday, April 24, 2017

Okay, it's me again today. I worked so hard to enter the challenge. This is my third card using pink and green. I love the colors together and also the samples the design team made plus all the entries. It ends today and I don't have time to start over. I wasn't going to enter this card at all but you know what - it is what I made so here goes. I watercolored a card with Zigs in pink and green but it wasn't on the right paper so it didn't come out well. Then I tried again and it was awful. Then yesterday I decided to use regular watercolor paints. I got the green cat all done and cut out and started to do the pink cat. Without any forthought I realized I don't have any pink watercolor paint other than pearl pink from Gansai Tambi. So, as you can see, that's what I used. The green is Koi watercolor. I cut them out along with a die cut frame from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is Technique Tuesday. So, here it is in all it's glory - shiny glory I might add. Be kind to one another.

Monday is here again! A sunny, pretty Monday after a chilly weekend. This is my new Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set shown today. I am not good with images all scattered  around so I'm glad this set has the leaves attached to the flowers. I just stamped them on watercolor paper and watercolored with Zigs. It is my first time that I liked the result of Zig watercolor. But the design left a lot to be desired. Too much space on the right side. I made this card for my DIL's mom who just had surgery. I added sequins to fill up the space but I'm afraid there are so many they will blind her when the light hits them!  I should have added one more flower but I was leaving space for the sentiment. Now I know I should have done that first. I am learning. I didn't like all that space at the bottom so I added a punched border by a Martha Stewart punch. I should have trimmed it to match the top. I SHOULD have started over is what I SHOULD have done! But I think I will send it nonetheless. I actually learn something from each card I make. I used to save all those bad ones to use as a guide but I had so many boxes of cards I had to get rid of them! So you would think by now I had learned a lot! Be kind to one another.

Thursday, April 20, 2017

Last Easter card I made this year. This went to my oldest grandson. Hard to believe he will be graduating from college in a month. I truly don't know where the years have gone. This is a SU image and Lawn Fawn plaid paper. I have used that SU stamp set so much. It is my favorite set ever from them.

My friend, Marilyn, is coming over today. We try to get together at least once a month but it is so hard to get together. Both of us have had to reschedule before it actually happens no matter how much we try. We have lunch and a movie or go shopping if nothing is on we want to see. I think today will be a movie day. Then it's back to bed shopping. I did get to one store yesterday but I want to take my time. This is a big purchase. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. Our family did and it was so nice to have them all here for the day. I'm posting the card I made for my granddaughter today. It is a Lawn Fawn chick and egg die cut in felt with black sequins for eyes. The paper is also Lawn Fawn  and the scallop die is Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is SU.

I am off today to find a new mattress. I would love to have one that inclines the head so I could read in bed. I do read in bed now only sitting over the side. That would be the lap of luxury for me. My mattress now may be contributing to my sore shoulder. It does feel better since the shot so I'm hoping that is taken care of.  Be kind to one another.

Sunday, April 16, 2017

Happy Easter to all of you today. I am getting ready put the ham in the oven and get the day started but I wanted to pop in and wish you all a wonderful day with your family.

I have several more cards that I haven't posted yet for Easter but I only want to share this one today. I CASED it from I loved it from the moment I saw it. It is just sponged through a torn frame and stamped with a SU stamp. Very simple but very moving. I truly love this stamp set. I moved the sun a little higher on the second card but otherwise they are the same. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, April 15, 2017

Grocery shopping is finished, house is cleaned and today I start cooking. We are having our first 80 degree days so I can open windows and let in the fresh air. I love that!  April, the giraffe,  is having her baby today and I'm excited for her.

This card did not come out as I had anticipated but I sent it anyway. I wanted to add this adorable bunny expoy sticker inside the grassy border but it made is so bumpy and out of sorts. The kids will like it though. The flowers are Impression Obession and I don't remember what stamp the dragonfly is but I added copper stickles to it's wings. Be kind to one another.

Thursday, April 13, 2017

My SIL called at 8:30 Tues. am and said she wasn't going to see the aunt because she had to do something with her daughter. We will reschedule for a later date. I'm somewhat relieved but we will still go. Yesterday we trekked down to Nashville again since they finally called her and said her stamps were in. I only got one thing out of a visit to both stamp stores! It is, new to me, a stamp set by Stampendous! and is by Laurel Busch. It is, of all things, cats! It caught my eye the last time we were there and I didn't get it, so this time I caved. She was a great designer and used copics so beautifully.  Had a great lunch and a most beautiful day in the 70's.

Todays card is a Simon Says stencil and sponged with Distress Oxide Inks. I added sequins to the flower centers and the sentiment is Lawn Fawn. I cut a oval with a SB die in pink cardstock and mounted it over the stenciled egg. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

My SIL and I are going to visit Bill's aunt today. She has dementia so this will be a hard visit. I don't think she will know who we are but we need to do this. I went to the Dr. yesterday because my left shoulder has been hurting for quite a while. I wanted to rule out a rotator cuff tear or anything serious. The bursa is inflamed and I got a cortisone shot with PT to do at home. That starts in three days. So I am relieved it was not worse.

Todays card is made with die cuts sent to me by a wonderful friend. I sponged one with worn lipstick, one with broken china ink and one in antique linen, then layered them. The image and sentiment are SU. Be kind to one another.

Monday, April 10, 2017

I'm thrilled to have the succulents all made for my DIL's for Easter. They are both alike and I hope they like them. This is the first time I've made something other than cards that I really like. I'm in and out quick today as I have lots of running to do. I also have the movie Fences that is due back today and I really want to watch it. The grands and I watched a couple of movies and we didn't get around to that one and that's the one I really wanted to see so I have to fit it in today too. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, April 8, 2017

It's starting to warm up again so it should be a pretty day. I get to have both of my younger grands today and for overnight. I haven't had them both together for a while so we will have a good time. Todays card is a boo boo but I hope you can't tell. Either way the stamp set is new so I am posting it at Darnell's IT'S HERE! April 1-11, 2017. It is a Simon Says set and I wanted to try watercoloring. I stamped the Cross in versamark and embossed it in clear powder. Then I watercolored over it. I was pleased with the watercolor but the Cross hardly showed up for some reason. I've seen people do this and it looked fine. That was the boo boo. I used the Misti and lined up the Cross again over the first one and inked with versamark and embossed with white powder.  Now it looks somewhat better and you can see it. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I also made two others and had to redo both of them as well.  Be kind to one another.
